Plastering is indeed a daunting business when you first start, there are only two basic requirements. The first is that the plastic should stick very well to the background, due to a requirement is that should be brought to a smooth flat finish when done. As you gain more experience you will realize that preparation and careful choice of plaster and tools should make sure that you have loads adhesion. He will learn the ability to achieve a smooth flat surface but of course it takes some practice in order to achieve this. In the beginning it is always a good idea to tackle a small scale patch to see how you get on.
Picking up plastic
Holds the edge of your hawk below the Spot Board and use your show to scrape a manageable amount of plaster onto its surface. You need to make sure that you take no more then any trowelfull to start with. Make sure you get the hawk towards you and in only one movement, make sure you cut away at their half of the plaster using your trowel by lifting and scraping it off the hawk and then on to the face of the trowel, make sure you keep this horizontal.
Applying the plaster
the next step is to hold the loaded trowel in the horizontal position, you can need to tilt case at an angle so it’s to the face of the wall. Next you apply to plaster with a vertical upward stroke, make sure that you are pressing firmly so the plaster is fed onto the wall surface. Once you have started this you need to flatten the angle of the trowel as you go and make sure to never let its whole face come into contact with the plaster so would you keeping a slight angle.
Leveling up
You need to make sure that you build a little extra thickness off the plaster using the trowel and applied is as evenly as possible. You can use something like a straightedged ruler to help make this surface level. You simply need to hold the rule against the original plaster when filling a patch. Start at the bottom and work to rule upwards when moving it from side to side you can list it carefully away taken the surplus which it. If you have any hollows lift you can simply fill these and some more plaster from the trowel.
Finishing the plaster
Apply the finishing coat as soon as the undercoat has set. You need to allow the plaster to try to completely. Use the plaster’s trowel to apply the finish plaster, make sure to spread it evenly to any thickness of around 2 mm and not more then 3 mm. As the plaster begins to stiffen make sure to brush it or lightly spray using water, then you need to trowel the surface so that it’s consolidated and it produces a smooth matt finish. Make sure you do not press hard and do not overwork to sources. Make sure you sponge of any surplus water that maybe left.
